		<description>You need to ensure you&#039;ve downloaded the version of Ubuntu that is the PPC version designed for PS3. You *cannot* use the x86 or AMD64 versions that you would use for your laptop, because the PS3 does not use an Intel or AMD CPU - it uses an IBM Cell Processor based on the older PowerPC technology, hence it runs PowerPC code.

Download the Ubuntu ISO that I linked to in the third paragraph of this article, namely: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/releases/intrepid/release/ubuntu-8.10-alternate-powerpc+ps3.iso as this version contains the necessary PS3 boot files.

Note that the PPC (PS3) version of Ubuntu cannot be used on your laptop because your CPU is not a Cell Processor.</description>
