and once again, thank you for taking the time to make this quick-start guide. wish dumphd's Readme.txt just had a link to this page. would save everyone so much time..

I just tried to rip Quantum of Solace unsuccessfully as well. It reports as MKBv12 so I guess we'll have to wait for aacskeys-0.4.0d.

What MKB version does AACSKeys report back to you when you request verbose information about the title, eg: in a terminal type in:

$ cd /path/to/aacskeys/application
$ ./aacskeys -v /media/cdrom

If it's reporting back anything higher than MKBv10, then you may have some trouble decoding the disc, but Quantum of Solace is a relatively old title now, so I can't imagine it being newer than MKBv10...

Anyway, if AACSKeys can identify the disc, then DumpHD should have no problem.

Hello heskuna, have you succeeded to play the "Quantum of Solace" under Linux? I have received this Blu-ray as a Christmas present (properly and officially bought) but I have no way of playing it, since my only Blu-ray reader is in a Linux box. I have tried dumphd but it cannot find the proper key. Thanks.

Well, technically you are still ripping it - you're just piping it straight into MPlayer. Nice solution, though. :)

I know what it says on the box: BE06LU10 and I know the fw rev is YE05. What I can't do is relate this to the listed options such as GGC-H20L, GGW-H20N etc to choose the right patch. It looks like I have to cross flash from BE.... to something and then apply the patch. If this is the case then which variant should it be cross flashed to? I have since ripped QOS using AnyDVD and DVDFab on my W7 box. When it finishes in another 5 hours I'll switch the drive back to the linux box and try what you suggested above.

Thanks for the link - I'll check it out.

I find The GIMP caters for all my Photoshopping needs very well. The only thing it doesn't really do is colour matching, but unless your a DTP professional, who needs it? :)

Cheers for the comments. Glad you like the site.

Ah, I knew I should have put up a link. The linux version is currently only listed in the forums:

http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=224

You can to compile it, but that's no issue and it works good so far.

I too have been using Ubuntu for around 3 years and live it! Only think I miss is Photoshop but I have a Windows laptop for doing that.

Take care!! Nice site!!
